GBSS Virtual Reunion 2021 - COVID CRISIS RESPONSE

The GBSS-AIF Inc. at its meeting of October 3rd. 2021 took the decision to use this GoFundMe medium to raise up to US$ 7,500 (EC$ 20,000) to provide nutritious food hampers for up to 100 GBSS students’ families. These students are being identified by the teaching staff, targeting students who have either suddenly lost parents to covid or lost their jobs due to the wider effects of the pandemic. The identification process is being led by Mrs. Shelly-Ann Lewis - the school's counselor.
Logistics: Our alumni in Grenada, (including Joseph Noel, Edwin Frank, Rodrigues James, Gordon Copeland - to name a few) have sourced reliable supplies of non-perishable essential foodstuffs from suppliers and are forming a vehicle distribution team for the latter part of October. Other alumni in the informal farming community (e.g., George Cherebin, Michelle Fraser) have offered fruits and vegetables to supplement these foodstuffs.
US Tax Relief: For US residents, GBSS-AIF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit entity, so your donation is tax-deductible for this fund-raising drive.
Financial Accountability: These covid-response funds will not be used for reunion purposes, and we will provide a detailed financial breakdown of the use of these funds.
