2.5 years ago, I was diagnosed with low testosterone at 32 years of age. This was incredibly unusual for someone my age, but my doctor treated with injections every two weeks for 2 years. This unfortunately ate into my insurance quite a bit.
About two years into treatment, I started noticing little things that were off. I would have episodes where I could no longer control my thoughts. I would say things that came out as a jumbled mess (but made sense to me!) I would start having facial twitches, break out in sweats, and even lose track of what I was doing in the middle of a task.
I went to see an endocrinologist to figure out why I kept feeling awful after treatment from my doctor. Through the course of blood tests, a small tumor was detected on my pituitary gland in my brain. I was assured that it was benign, and my doctor would conduct a second MRI in 6 months to see how the tumor had changed and if further treatment was required.
As of two weeks ago, it was determined that the tumor had not grown and was just hanging out in my brain with no real purpose. Statistically this is not unusual for brain tumors, but now I am footed with a massive bill for two MRI's within a 6 month period. My current insurance has a very high deductible and this occured in two benefit years (so the deductible reset in the middle).
Long story short, I am working two jobs and trying to find additional sources of income to pay this debt off. I didn't want to start a GoFundMe, but a good friend of mine encouraged me to start the page as a "just in case" type of scenario.
