GB Target Sprint competition fund

Hi I’m Arno I’m 16 and I am currently studying for my A- levels at Chipping Sodbury School
In November 2017 I used my athletic skills to take on a new sport Target Sprint. I was very quickly selected to represent Great Britain and be part of an elite squad of athletes. I was honoured to be selected and loved that I could use my shooting skills developed in the Army Cadet and running from my local club.
I am raising money to go to each of the target sprint world tour locations. At the end of May, I went to Italy as part of the GB squad for target sprint to compete in the Walther trophy. Target sprint can be described simply as a run, shoot, run, shoot, run. Each run being 400m and you have to shoot down 5 targets before you run again.as part of the GB team I will be traveling to Germany and Holland at the end of June start of July and then for the world championship in Korea, in September.
This is the first time I have taken part in competitions abroad, and it will be a whole new experience and hopefully I will progress in the world rankings. I am currently 2nd in GB and 13th on the world tour for junior men’s. As this is a fairly new sport no money is put into it until the sport reaches the Olympics so for the moment the sport and all competitions are completely self-funded with organised flights and hotels. I am seeking to fundraise to cover the costs of these three international competitions and for the Italy competition costing £600. Germany will cost £700 Holland will cost £600 and Korea in September £2100 which is a total of £4000 in 2018 to compete. My family and friends are supporting me as much as possible yet this is big total and this is why I have sought to set up a GoFundMe page.
I have a huge passion for the sport as I love running and athletics and then when this sport was introduced to me I instantly knew that this is what I wanted to do. By doing my first international competitions now it confidently sets me up to be able to compete away without hesitation and will perform better in the future and will make friends in the sport.
The funds are needed for travel and accommodation for 3 international competitions to be held abroad during 2018. I am committed to representing Great Britain and would love to have this opportunity. The
It would be a wonderful experience to attend all of these in my first year of the GB squad as I can then make my mark on the sport and show others what I’m really capable of achieving.
Thank you for supporting me in representing Great Britain
