Proper Burial for Beloved Mother
Donation protected
On Monday, May 4th, Gayle Stewart (Peters/Sauer) peacefully passed on. She left three children, Michael, Jen, and Laura; son-in law, Joshua; future daughter-in-law, Kristen; three step-children, Vivien, Iain and Ruby, Marine husband, Eoin, and many friends who she touched throughout her life.
Due to the unexpected circumstances, the funds to allow a proper burial for our mother are minimal to none.
Gayle, a darling mother of three, moved to Seattle from Chicago, Illinois over two years ago. She instantly grew in love with the city and all it had to offer.
Days before a pre-planned visit from her children she had received the news that she had lung cancer. As a woman of strong faith, she believed the timing of the news and the visit was a sign from above. Despite the doctor's diagnosis, she kept a level head, strong heart, and was ready to fight for her life, for the sake of her family.
On her first day of chemotherapy on April 29th, Gayle was a champion. Her faith assured her she was ready for what ever was to be. Shortly after the session, the doctors approached her with some concerns and she was admitted to the E.R.
By Saturday morning, she had become completely unresponsive and just two days later on May 4th, she peacefully passed on.
We have been flooded with love and support from relatives, friends, and all those who knew her. Gayle had a special ability to touch the lives of all who met her, even for a brief time. For many, she was a second mother, a confidant, an inspiration, and so much more.
Gayle was a pistol, a straight-shooter, and a woman to be reckoned with. Underneath all of that, she was a caring, gentle, goofy little bird. It all happened so quickly and all too soon, but she assured us she was ready to take on her next stage of life. She is at peace now.
We want to honor her life and her wishes to be cremated and buried in Seattle, a town that she loved and found her sanctuary in. As many of you have personally experienced in the hardest of times, losing a a loved one is financially draining, especially when it happens so suddenly and unexpectedly. We are beyond grateful for any and all donations. Thank you, all!
