Who are we?

We are Gateway STEM Robotics, a STEM organization based out of the Saint Louis Public Schools District. We currently have 20 students on our teams from 3 different high schools in the district. We participate in FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), a worldwide robotics organization that includes thousands of teams and hundreds of thousands of students.
Our Mission is to further STEM Awareness and Education in St. Louis City through robotics competitions, while encouraging innovation and fostering well-rounded life skills including confidence, communication, and leadership. As a non-profit organization running a high-budget program, we rely on sponsor donations, both in-kind and cash, to continue the work we do.

By Participating, Students gain opportunities to:
• Build, Design, and Compete with a robot in competition
• Work and Learn alongside industry professionals.
• Learn to use professional hardware and software used in many industries
• Develop skills such as public speaking, project management, and teamwork.
• Qualify for over $80 million in college scholarships from over 200 providers

STEM Education outreach is the promotion of STEM to youth through new FIRST teams, public displays, and various classes and demonstrations. Our school district is home to over 30 FIRST teams, representing every level of the FIRST progression of programs.

We’d like for our sponsoring friends, family, and fans to know what they are paying for when they give us money to support our trip to the FIRST Robotics World Championship in Houston, Texas.

We have managed the lion’s share of the trip already. The coach bus and our hotel has been paid for.

We are asking for funds to cover the costs of meals while in Houston. As a team who has been before, we know the cost of food is very expensive especially eating at a convention center. We are asking for at least $50 per day per team member.

We would also like for our team members to be able to afford to purchase a souvenir item from the FIRST World Championship Store to commemorate their journey. In addition, we would like to take the team to NASA Johnson Space Center which is $21.95/person. As we are a school that is rated at 100% free lunch, most of our students will not be able to have spare funds for this purpose. We are asking for at least $50 per team member.
