Hello Friends & Animal Lovers!
Three weeks ago, Animal Guardians Horse Rescue welcomed 18 year old Josie into our care. Josie’s former owner had been dealing with some serious health issues and released her to a family member who connected with us to get her the help she needed including vaccinations, trimming and tooth float before transferring her into foster care with AGHR.
Josie needed to gain a total of 100 pounds to achieve a healthy weight and had started taking the first steps on her road to recovery when, on 10/20/23, it was discovered that she had severe gas colic and stones. Battling severe bloating and infection, Josie underwent emergency, life saving surgery at West Coast Equine Hospital where is she now under observation.
We are closely monitoring Josie’s situation and are eager to help her through this and back on the road to recovery. This brave and trusting equine has overcome so much adversity in her life and deserves nothing less than our full support!
Animal Guardians Rescue needs your help to raise the funds needed to cover this essential procedure (a total of $10,000+) for our beloved Josie which will help us remain open so that we may continue to care for her and our 9 other senior and special needs horses who depend on us!
