Gary's Wingwalk for the GRH Dandelion Appeal
Tax deductible
Want to join me in making a difference?
On Saturday 8th May 2021, I will be doing a Wing Walk to fundraise for The Gloucester Royal Hospital, Commemorative Dandelion Appeal.
The Commemorative Dandelion Appeal will help raise funds for the amazing hospital teams who continue to go above and beyond to care for people in the community the pandemic. Dandelions have a special place in the hearts of so many at Gloucestershire Hospitals. With patients unable to be with their loved ones, it launched the Every Name A Person initiative, vowing to get to know something special about every patient and ensure nobody died alone. As part of this, the Trust commissioned a set of carved wooden dandelions - one that went with each patient who sadly passed away and a second sent to their family.
They are now building on these memories through the creation of a beautiful commemorative garden at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. Money raised by the Dandelion Appeal will be used to fund the new green space and help continue to support staff wellbeing.
In April 2020 I was admitted to GRH with Covid 19. For nearly 10 weeks including 51 days in Intensive Care, the amazing teams went above and beyond the call of duty to care for me and ultimately saved my life. During my stay, on many occasions I was taken out into the hospital garden for some fresh air and was also able to meet my family. I will be eternally grateful to all at GRH and will be doing the Wing Walk to raise funds for this wonderful appeal which is close to my heart.
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
