In Gary F. Herold's Memory, his 3 daughters started a scholarship in his name to award to a graduating senior at the school that his oldest daughter works at.
Students are asked to right an essay to describe why it is important to Never Forget that tragic day. They also need to provide character references. The winner will be someone who researches and provides a well written essay, as well as embodies the characteristics of Gary. They will be someone who puts themselves before others, who cares deeply for those they love, and is a hard worker.
Education was important to Gary, and so, by providing a scholarship to a college bound student, he is helping to lessen the financial burden that college may be.
With your help, the Never Forget 9/11, Gary F. Herold Memorial Scholarship will be given yearly to a well deserving senior at Springstead High School.
