I need some help...
My parents, Gary and Judy, are both currently in the hospital. My dad had an unexpected triple bypass surgery last Thursday (5/10). He’s recovering and is doing pretty good, but he’s got a long road ahead of him. My mom ended up in the ER Friday morning, and has some infection near her kidneys that the doctors are trying to figure out. There are a couple possibilities right now, one being emphysema. I am not sure when either of them will be released from the hospital, but I’m hoping it will be later this week.
They are both going to need a lot of help when they get back to their house. Their raised ranch home has a steep and narrow set of stairs that won’t be easy for them to navigate on their own. They struggled with these stairs even before they ended up in the hospital. I am going to build them a ramp off of their back deck this weekend so they will be able to get inside to their living space easier, in a wheelchair or with a walker, if needed. I’ve got a friend in the construction business that will donate some building knowledge and manpower to help build the ramp on Saturday morning. If anyone wants to lend a hand, please swing by. My friend is getting a list of materials together that we’ll need to build the 40’ ramp. I am not sure what these materials will cost, but I could really use some help covering the expense. I’m sure there will also be some other things they’ll need over the next few months to help make things easier and more livable for them around their house.
