Garrus the Cat Hyperthyroid Treatment Fund

Donation protected
This is Garrus. Our sweet baby who is 11 years old. He has been with us since he was 8 months old. He's been our world and means everything to us.
This past winter he was diagnosed with Hyperthyroid disease and they put him on the only medicine used to treat it (at least in cats) and he started tolerating it well up until about 3 months into it, he began to develop rare, severe side effects from the drug (as it builds up in the system it can cause delayed negative effects) which almost killed him. And he's lost a lot of weight and we are trying to keep it stable, which we have been able to so far.
So, of course he had to go off of it. And the only other option is a treatment called Radioactive Iodine Therapy which is a one-time injection therapy session but very few do it. Its a 97% cure and extremely low risk. Only two clinics here perform it, and the are very booked far out. The safest, cheapest, and more recommended one by our new cat specialist is at the Care Center here in Cinci where they fly a very trained veterinarian named Dr. Meers fron Florida, one day a month, to do these procedures. He has connections with the clinic and very high in demand. We originally had it scheduled for June but they had to reschedule. But were able to get squeezed in for an earlier appointment for August.
My wife has a history of ongoing severe medical problems (gastro) and nearly died herself from it in late 2020/early 2021 and we have a ton of medical bills we are still dealing with and our credit is totally wrecked. So we are unable to obtain CareCredit or any other credit card. The clinics do NOT accept payment plans and have reached out to every organization in the tristate and beyond and they either have a very very long wait for application reviewing (still waiting!!) Or they only deal with non-profit organizations or foster care, or animal shelters. Any other ones willing to help with assistance can only up to $100 or $200. So far. Have calls out to a few other ones the vet found today.
Family are strained financially from having helped us through all our medical issues, helping us get re-settled out here after layoffs ,and their own medical issues recently.

The cost of the Radioactive Iodine Therapy is $1500 altogether but also the add-on costs for retests and any other thing that might pop up after is unknown. Hopefully this is a cure. But he will need retests every 3-6 months for a while. There's a very low risk he might require a second treatment but that's rare.

The procedure session also includes an abdominal ultrasound to rule out any other issues from it (kidneys, liver, etc), and thyroid ultrasound as per their policy which is included in the $1500 and updated blood work prior to the appointment is not included and the thyroid panels are very expensive.

We can provide all documentation and the vet documentation and their direct clinic info ..
Dr. Shelly at Pleasant Ridge Veterinary in Cincinnati, Ohio is the one currently acting as his cat care specialist.
And Care Center of Cincinnati will be the ones doing the therapy. Dr. Meers is the vet performing that. Katrina is the coordinator for the Iodine program.

If anyone would like to donate towards his treatment cure and the followup costs and any (god forbid) complications that could arise, any little bit will help!!!!!!

He means the world to us and has been loved by soooo many and everyone who's gotten to meet him and follow him through the years.
We and he will be forever grateful for any help.
