Garretts Fight to Kick Cancers Ass

My brother Garrett is a 22 year old engineering major at PSU. A little over a year ago he was diagnosed with a rare form of testicular cancer. After some minor procedures and numerous tests ran we thought Garrett was on top. He was kept on a close watch until November 2017 when his lymph nodes became enlarged. We knew it was time for a second opinion.
My brother then contacted UPENN, who at the time claimed to accept his form of health insurance. After many trips to Philadelphia and much more testing, Garrett met with a surgeon who set his surgery for Feb 14th 2018 to remove all his abdominal lymph nodes to reduce the risk of the cancer spreading. Days before the scheduled surgery, he got a call saying there was a mistake and they DO NOT accept Garrett’s insurance, and the surgery must be cancelled..
So, he then met with his doctor from Geisinger who directed him to a surgeon from Geisinger Wyoming Valley who denied him needing the surgery, as he most likely would still need Chemotherapy after anyways.
Garrett has been given the awful news that his liver enzyme markers were real high after tests this past week. Thursday March 29th he will make his second trip to the Sperm bank in Philadelphia as he plans to have a family one day. Friday, March 30th, my brother will be receiving a port and he begins his chemotherapy on Monday, April 2nd. All funds raised will help pay previous and future medical bills, and school expenses from having to drop his classes as he fights this battle. You got this Garrett!! Fight hard and stay strong!!
