Help Mom in my Brother's recovery

A week ago Friday, October 17th, my (now) 54 year old brother was once again hit by a car as a cyclist in Los Angeles.  The first incident  - just over 30 years ago - was life changing resulting in major head trauma and though still brilliant - my Brother was a UCLA scholarship student and is (still) a HUGE geometry geek - at the time he had to re-leaern everything; how to walk, talk...everything. This time around in many ways he was luckier...though he was initially admitted to the Neuro ward at UCLA Medical Center,  the brain bleed was easily controlled and  I was able to speak with him for the 1st time last Thursday.  It is his body that took the brunt of it this time.  He just had his second  surgery on his leg - steel pin in, with more to follow.  he has fractures in his face, spine, leg and pelvis.  

I am asking those who are able to help out with what they can.  We aren't looking to raise money for medical expenses,  I am looking to fund Mom to be able to go to California to help out in what will, undoubtedly be a long recovery.  This funding is to cover travel,  cost of accommodation and basic living expenses while she there.  At this point - though we still don't know for sure - we are likely looking at her having to be there for 2 months.

I didn't really know what to ask as far as my goal,  so based this number on, primarily, cost of finding an airbnb type situation for her to base herself out of.
