Gambia Emergency Appeal

On July 7th 2021 a major storm hit The Gambia leaving at least 10 people dead and more than 3,000 people displaced. Friends of Kerr Layen a Charitable Group in the UK was started on Feb 1st 2021. in our first six months we have managed to deliver... Month1 20,000 meal portions of rice to stabilize the effect of Covid 19, No Tourism and a very poor harvest. The aid went directly to Kerr Layen a village of 1,500 people. Since then we have funded the planting of five hectares of Groundnut and Five Hectares of Cashew Trees (500). This will be an annual commitment.

This huge storm has affected many people in the area of our operation and I have started this Fundraiser personally to raise money toward the rebuilding of property.

The Gambia is Africa's poorest country where people in rural districts live below the international poverty line. In some instances people are now moved in with Neighbours and left to seek to rebuild homes are facing years of hardship to raise the money.

All funding will be used directly for rebuilding against quotations and invoiced managed by the Gambian Agent of Friends of Kerr Layen.
