Gale's End of Life Expenses

We lost our dear friend Gale Rhoades on January 31, and the impact is being felt by the wide communities of people who experienced her generosity, wisdom, technical brilliance, and humor. Gale was a computer consultant who supported her clients far beyond the call of duty, available night and day with her Five-Minute Rule (don't fuss over a problem for longer than five minutes before asking for help!) and her maxim "There is no such thing as a stupid question." As the North American publisher and distributor of the Macrex indexing program, she was a lifeline, business builder, and community creator for a loyal circle of indexers who have depended on her for our entire careers. She served as loving home-away-from-home, English coach, and energetic introducer of American culture to many grateful students from Japan. Countless friends from all of the facets of her amazing life and career, as well as her three sisters, are mourning her now.

Funds raised here will be used for the substantial medical and other costs associated with the end of Gale's life. Gale's sister Katherine Pinney will be in charge of the funds. Please consider donating to make this hard hard time easier for her family.
