Gage Goes to Germany

Donation protected
My name is Gage Borgwardt and I am currently a sophmore at Central High School. I am an advanced student already taking many junior level classes. Due to a rigorous academic schedule and my involvement in after school activities such as Knowledge Bowl and Science Bowl, most of my time at home is spent doing homework and studying.

I have many hobbies which include solving as many different rubiks cubes as I can, hiking in the Black Hills, doing outdoor activities, riding my bike and playing with my dog, Ty.

In the Summer of 2015, I hope to travel to Germany with my fellow German Club classmates on a tour with CETA tours. We will also spend two weeks in our sister city, Apolda, where we will stay with host families and attend school with our host. I am very excited about this opportunity because we will also get the opportunity to travel to Austria, Switzerland, and France. I am most looking forward to seeing so many sights that I have only had the opportunity to read about in textbooks. I am especially excited to spend two weeks with a host family to immerse myself in their culture and to tour Dachau to have further insight into the history surrounding this concentration camp.

I am working to raise funds for this tour and will be helping to pay a portion of the tour myself. I have worked mowing lawns, and babysitting, but I also do quite a bit of volunteering through our local Youth Institute, Diabetes Inc., and our German Club. As you know, I am still a student though and raising funds of this magnitude for the tour is a challenge—which I embrace wholeheartedly, but with which I could use a little assistance. Therefore, I am looking for donors, such as you, to sponsor a portion of my experience.

We are doing many fundraising activities through our German Club to which I have participated in. I have served at the German Dinner, the Pancake Feed, sold kuchen, candles and adventkalendars. We also have upcoming events through local restaurants and a carnival.

My goal is to raise $2000.00 before March 1st. I greatly appreciate any donation you are willing to contribute and supporters like you are the reason this tour is possible.

I really appreciate your assistance and thank you in advance for your support.
