Gaby’s Journey with Glioblastoma

Donation protected

My beautiful friend is in need... I have known Gaby for over ten years. She is a selfless and loving mother and friend. We raised our children together from birth. She is the mother of three amazing little boys: Andres (12), Adrian (9) and Aedyn (7). In 2015, she had a seizure while driving and ended up in a lake but thankfully survived! Months and many seizures later, the doctors discovered that Gaby had brain cancer - Glioblastoma Multiform. She underwent extensive chemotherapy and brain surgery, but alas, part of the tumor remained. She not only survived all this but thrived. She was placed on a  clinical trial that has been productive for her for the past 4 years.

During the 4 years on the trial, she continued to stay strong and raise her 3 boys while working at an after care. She also met the man of her dreams, and got married in 2018. He had a daughter, Quinn (4), so she got her wish of always wanting to have a little girl! The six of them create the most beautiful and loving family. On November 1, 2019 at a routine visit to the oncologist at University of Miami Sylvester Cancer Institute, they discovered 3 new tumors in Gaby's brain.

These new tumors are located in a different part of the brain, away from her original tumor, but are pressing on regions that control motor skills.  Gaby now cannot work and now is on a medical leave. Her walking has suffered and now walks with a cane, she also constantly has dizzy spells in which she cannot stand and her speech becomes slurred. Her absences from working has put a financial strain as now one salary has to meet the needs of 6 individuals but this family does not give up!

Gaby's wonderful doctors have agreed that 6 weeks of intensive chemotherapy and radiation will be her best chances. During this time her doctors will come up with a game plan to attempt to place her on a new qualifying clinical trial once the chemo and radiation has ceased. It’s so difficult to celebrate something you thought you had beaten, only for it to come back and knock you down. Gaby has never complained, she has always been so optimistic about life. Hope, strength, and faith drives her. As chemo begins again, she will need prayer warriors! If she cannot get into another trial after chemo, the prognosis for Gaby is 10 months...
If you can contribute to this family in their time of need it would be greatly appreciated.
