Gabriel’s Leukemia Is Back!

Gabriel is our grandson. Laticia, our daughter is a single mom, has three kids. Gabriel was diagnosed at 3 years old and had treatment for 3 years. He recently rang the bell, we were excited!! Within 8 weeks his legs started hurting, lots of pain, return visit to Galisano Cjildrens Hospital, and he’s been there since June 30th. This round of chemo treatments very intense. He’ went through years of chemo, infusions, dr and hospital visits and stays, missed school and events, spinal taps and so much more. Now he has to have intense chemo to get in remission so hopefully in 3 months he can have a bone marrow transplant. Laticia is in her final year of getting her RN. She currently works full time but the drs are asking her not to so as not to bring any illness to Gabriel who already has a compromised immune system.

This takes a village. Laticia has help from all of her family. Yet this is quite the endeavor. Many of you know the cancer history with the Cardenas family. We are all set to beat this this time.
