Gabriel Sabol Traumatic Brain Injury Care Fund

Late in the evening of August 3rd, Gabriel Sabol was in a serious accident while riding his electric skateboard/scooter near his home in Sarasota, Florida. While Gabriel was wearing a helmet, he was likely traveling at around 40 miles per hour and was somehow thrown from the board.

He was rushed into emergency brain surgery overnight to relieve increasing pressure from a hematoma in his head that began to put him into a coma, and he is currently recovering from surgery in the ICU with a fractured skull. His parents are with him.

The short- and long-term extents of his brain injury are unclear.

Naturally, this morning’s concerns are not financial. Please pray that Gabriel’s fever and agitation will abate, that he will not experience further bleeding in his brain, and that he will not experience any seizures.

What is clear is that Gabriel, his parents, Claudette and Michael Sabol, and Gabriel’s seven younger siblings will require extensive support in the coming weeks and months. In the immediate future, this means travel and hotel expenses for his parents, as they live 250 miles away and cannot leave his side. In the longer term, the obvious medical bills associated with emergency neurosurgery and associated costs of recovering from severe trauma and its related rehabilitation are mounting and will likely be ongoing.

Gabriel is a kind, warm, and creative young man. He is an incredibly talented fine artist and a beloved member of his family and his network of friends. If you are able, please donate in support of Gabriel’s healing.
