While on her way to work a friend spotted this poor guy, an older Yellow Lab, in the pouring rain off the side of a road in Mt. Hope, NY.  After a day of unsuccessful searching she had to give up as darkness approached. She called me in the morning to assist her in looking for him.  After about an hour an a half of walking through the woods we headed out onto Robbins Road and with God helping us there he was crossing the road. We then ran after the poor guy and threw a blanket over him so that we could stop him from running off into the woods. We then put a leash and coat on him.  After we reassured him he was safe and we wouldn't hurt him, we gave him some soft dog food which he devoured and water.  We were nervous to move him with the leash because of his fragile state. At this point we believed he was deaf and possibly blind.
After posting on facebook that we found him and our location other people that were out searching for him met up with us to assist in giving him care. We then took him to the Vet,  who willing offered to evaluate  him, as we the  women begged he not be put down if there was a chance he could survive,  that  we could get the funding to treat him. We then called the Animal Control Officer for his advice on how to handle this. I have never seen a dog with half the Tick Community feeding on him. His bones are showing profusely. His teeth are so rotten they will need to pulled. He needs testing on his blood to check for Lyme, Parvo or other ailments, his liver and kidneys also need to be checked.  I know its going to be very costly to do these tests.  I am willing to foster him so he does not have to go in a shelter as the Vet says he may not survive a stay there. I do not have the funds to help him get through the first 7 days he needs to stay at the Vet until I can hopefully bring him to my home. I guess State Law requires this as there is no previous owner known. If I could get help with this initial treatment of him and know what his outcome could be then hopefully I can take care of him financially myself until we find a forever home for him. I have never publicly asked anyone for assistance before in my life and as an animal lover I wouldn't want to see him put down because a lack of money. I beg of all who can please help please do. Whether it be a dollar, five dollars any amount would be greatly appreciated. I will consistantly give updates and share photos as he,  progresses on his journey to a healthy dog who deserves a fair chance.  So again I ask for all who can to please help me out in this situation and if you know of anyone who would be willing to help us please share the info. Thank You to everyone who helps out in advance.
