Power to the People - Generators for Ukraine

Ukraine has lost more than 30% of its power stations to Russian strikes and as temperatures plummet below zero, 10 million Ukrainians are currently without electricity.

Many areas are relying on generators to power their hospitals, schools, water supply facilities, relief centres, shelters, and mobile phone masts. There have been long periods of blackouts and worries are rising that Ukraine could experience a health crisis this Winter if energy problems continue.

Residents are scrambling to buy candles and generators in order to maintain light and warmth over the coming months, but these are in short supply. The strikes have plunged millions of people into extreme hardship and appalling conditions of life.

LoveBristol has been working on the border between Poland and Ukraine since March. We have now helped 800 Ukrainian refugees resettle with sponsors in the UK.

Members of our team are working in Ukraine with Churches and Charities helping to support vulnerable people, many of whom have lost everything.

We are asking for donations in order to buy generators, power supplies and other essential items for those in need.

These supplies will save lives and help to support the towns and cities which have been largely destroyed by the ongoing war.
