It is so true that “…bad things happen to good people” but this does not in any way ease the pain and difficulty for any of us in watching this happen to people we love and care about.
Doug Brown is first and foremost a family man, great father, husband, provider and friend. Total devotion to his family and friends does not come close to describing him. Nearly a month ago Jenny, his wife of 16 years, his 2 young sons Ethan and Austin, and his daughter Chelsea were completely blindsided as we all were when Doug had a seriously debilitating stroke which has left him ventilator dependent. So, so difficult to watch Doug and his family go through this terrible medical ordeal. Equally as difficult is the fact that the insurance Doug had through his long time employer as well as their personal assets have or will soon run out and with Jenny by his side constantly in the hospital it is most difficult if not impossible for her to generate enough income to support their lives. Jenny is no stranger to hard work as she has constantly had 2 jobs and her job with the school district will soon begin again. An outpouring of help from immediate family and friends does not seem to make much of a dent in their current financial problems with huge medical bills and the huge projected costs for the long term care Doug will require. As Jenny spends each very long day at the hospital with Doug she is constantly reminded of this terrible dilemma they are in.
Friends, work associates and many others have constantly asked Jenny how they can help and Bill King mentioned the Gofundme app on the internet. I offer that as a longtime family friend of Doug and Jenny’s that this can be a quick and easy step for you to take to help this young couple during this terrible ordeal. Please follow my lead and that of many of their other friends and family and help to support this young couple.
