Support Savannah's Transition

My journey to find myself took me all over the United States and its end is going to bring me across it once more. My name is Savannah, and I’m trying to afford my medically necessary gender confirmation surgery, a surgery that’s hardly practiced in my particular southern region.  Due to this case I traveled across the country to New York where I met my care-team. I’m currently scheduled for the 6th of July.  I cannot put into words how truly momentous this opportunity is for me as it will allow me to live my life unshackled from mental and physical distress.  

 

This surgery, while covered by my insurance is only partially covered and I will need to still pay approximately half of the cost of the procedure coupled with my deductible addition to the initial cost, there is also the supplemental costs in recovery.  These supplemental costs include:
a recovery time that includes a month of bedrest immediately following the surgery, where I will need to stay at a hotel or AirBnB, Food, Medications, Specialty supplies such as antibacterial soaps, and Travel from the hospital and to airport due to the risk of infection. Before finally completing my journey home and following another 6-18 weeks of limited activity.  I plan to use any and all donated funds to offset the personal cost of this surgery as well as cover my expenses for the month and half that I will be away from work.
