On Monday, November 23, one of Ringwood’s sanitation workers, Charles Edward Preston, Jr., was involved in a horrific accident when a garbage truck backed over his leg and foot. (This information has been released with the written permission of the patient.)
Charles has been working in Ringwood every day for the last two years. You might not know him by name, but he always waved when he saw you and gave a cheery, “Hello!” if you were nearby. Your children may know him as the one who wore the Spiderman or Captain America mask as he went on his trash-collecting rounds.
Due to his injuries, Charles will not be able to work for some time. He faces a long road of healing and rehabilitation ahead.
One of his worries is that he will not be able to support his family. We ask if you can open your heart and help Charles and his family this holiday season. If you can help out with even a small donation, that would be most appreciated.
