Help Noel with his cancer treatment

Donation protected
Noel Rodriguez is a man above most men. He is a great dad, father, volunteer, lover of people….tough as nails.

In 2012 Noel thought his pain was just bad back pain for many, long weeks. When he finally went to the doctor, he found that his appendix had ruptured, and the doctor treated the infection for 6 weeks before surgery. During the surgery his appendix was removed and a third of his colon because cancer had been found.
Chemo began on January 30, 2013 every other week for 6 months.

Even during the chemo, he was able to work some and found a project for an older couple who needed a new roof from storm damage. He rounded up volunteers and funds to help this couple get a new roof. He is selfless.

In July 2013, Noel was declared cancer free. For months he received good reports.
Then in April and May 2014, he started having pain, and his tumor markers went up.
Scans found cancer in his peritoneal cavity, which is the lining of the abdominal cavity.

In June 2014, chemo started once again every other week for 6 months. Noel is still in the midst of these treatments. In August 2014, blood clots developed in his arm and neck from side effects of chemo. He now gets daily shots to dissolve and prevent more clots until the chemo ends. He has had hospital stays from added complications in September and October. He has not been able to work with this round of chemo.

Noel has been given hope that he may be a candidate for surgery to remove the peritoneal lining and treat with chemo directly to the affected area. This surgery will be done by a doctor in Washington, D.C., Pittsburgh, or Nebraska. He is waiting to hear from these doctors for appointments with each to see if he qualifies as a candidate.

Through these many hospital stays, going for evaluations from these doctors, the even bigger possibility of surgery in another state and being in the hospital there up to 6 weeks (along with his wife’s expenses of being up there with him), Noel is in need of financial assistance. If this surgery is done, it will possibly be done in January, 2015.

Any and all help with be extremely appreciated. Thank you for considering helping Noel Rodriguez, a man who thinks of others even in his time of need.
