UPDATE: Julie Rodriguez has been officially declared dead at 11 am on April 12, 2018. Her insurance does not cover death due to illness. She had been taken off life support and we are now figuring out arrangements but we need more support.
On April 8th, a seemingly normal Sunday afternoon, Julie collapsed to the floor after telling her son to call an ambulance. After what felt like an eternity, the EMT's were able to restart her heart, and she was rushed to the hospital. There she underwent a series of tests, and the results were heartbreaking. She has been declared totally brain dead and is on life support. Doctors gave her a 1% chance to live. Her family now faces the hardest decision anyone could make.
Julie touched the hearts of everyone she met. Her doors were always open, her hands were always giving, her mind was always praying, and her heart was always loving.
Julie left behind six children and many grandkids. She loved being a mother so much, that she became a preschool teacher. Through the years she has been there to love, guide, and mentor all of her children. She has taken in many people throughout her life and gave them a place to call home. This is the definition of who she was; a nurturer, and a mother to all who needed it.
It is our HOPE and VISION to give this angel the proper send off she deserves. She gave her love and care so freely to everyone in her life, and never asked for anything in return. Julie and her family are now in need for some of that same kind of care and support. The family is going to face steep funeral and medical expenses, for which we are asking for support. Any donation would be greatly appreciated in this time of hardship.
