Help us with a new home Pt. 2

Donation protected

Update 1: Hi, Hunter Hunnie here, updating for Alisa as she's working on another project; We've found a place to live, and my 401k cash out got us most of the way into it, but we're off by a bit, so we're opening up the campaign again; any help would be amazing, if we can make it into this place, we'll be able to rent out two rooms, so we'll be able to recoup the funds quickly; the plan is to rent out to other queer folks in vulnerable situations, but we still need to make sure we can afford the place; if we can make over the goal funds, we can subsidize the other folks who would be living at the house.

Thanks so much for your time, and thank you so much to everyone who's donated and shared this campagin; every little bit helps so much.

Original Post from Alisa Tana:

Hi! I'm Alisa Tana.  My Partner, Hunter Hunnie, and I, along with our fur-kids, could use a helping hand.

Hunter is a transwoman, QA developer, and fighting a constant battle with depression and chronic pain.  I am a freelance artist and animator.  Grissel is our elderly 90lb English Mastiff; Rengar and Opal are our super-lovey kitties.  Grissel is blind in one eye, and Rengar is deaf, and every day with them helps us keep going.

Early last year, Hunter and I lost the job we were working on together when the project producer went to jail and his investors lost faith in the project.  After that, Hunter and I asked to stay with my mother for a month or two while we looked for more stable work; but a fight with her and her son left the both of us standing out in the rain with nothing but the clothes on our backs.

A couple of our friends were kind enough to house us, but the entire experience left Hunter and I emotionally and physically drained and fragile.  We've spent the past year, trying to build our constitutions back up.  I've been working as a freelance artist, making just enough to pay for our monthly pet expenses and toiletries.  Hunter finally feels strong enough to work again; she recently completed a freelance web development project, but we’re still waiting for the paycheck from that to arrive.

The folks we've been staying with have been extremely helpful, but they've had their own financial difficulties recently, and we've been given a hard move-out date of January 31st.

Even with Hunter and I returning to work, we won’t get paid fast enough to pay the move-in costs of a new place, which is where we could really use your help.

We’re looking at getting a simple place, and have found one that may be perfect for us and our animals.  The total move-in cost is $2000 ($1300 deposit, $700 rent, and a little extra for a bed and other necesseties ).  The sooner we can get this money, the better our chances of securing this rental unit.

Also, if you have any quick turn-around web development, QA, graphic design, other artwork, or sewing related jobs, Hunter and I are available to do those in exchange for your help.  Please feel free to contact us for any work offers.

Any help that you are able to give would be greatly appreciated, and we would be eternally grateful.
