Read-a-thon
Hola, Guten Tag, Bonjour, and Salutations,
We are students participating in our Carnage Magnet Middle School PTSA book club that we called Order. We are a group of middle school students that attend Fred J. Carnage GT/AIG Magnet Middle School in Raleigh, North Carolina and are members of the Carnage Magnet Middle School PTSA. We have created a summer book club. We want to provide this opportunity to encourage other students to read during the summer to prevent any learning loss.
While partaking in the book club, the members have discussed different projects we could do as a givebacks. We also decided to offer all students at our middle school to partake in a reading and fundraising event this summer. We are hosting a Summer Read-a-thon!
All students that partake in this fundraiser will be allowed to help make decisions as to where the funding will go. We plan to allocate the money throughout the year for various areas in need using our PTSA organization to distribute funds. Projects that we may include but not limited to include School Technology, Teacher Appreciation programs, Family Engagement activities, Programming for students, Trojan Olympiad (a winter series of student competitions), community projects, and much more. . . etc. . . etc. . .
Students that partake in the Read-a-thon will be able to set a goal of minutes to read over four weeks and will need to attain a $5 minimum donation. When they attain their goal, they will receive a prize.
Our Read-a-thon will take place from July 23rd - August 20th, 2021.
To sign up, students may fill out the google form: Read-a-thon Participant Form
After signing up a member of the Student Read-a-thon team will e-mail each student a private google form to track your minutes read and donations collected!
