Hello compassionate hearts
I am Mohammed and this is my fiancée Bessan. We are a doctor and an engineer.
Our love story began in childhood and I got engaged to Bessan while studying medicine in Egypt.
When the time came for our marriage, her father was dying of brain cancer and we postponed our wedding to October 10, 2023. While we waited for our marriage, we prepared a home we would live in together and talked about our hopes and dreams for the future. Everything we placed in our new home held memories and stories that were important to us.
This was going to be the home that would bring us together after years of separation while I studied medicine in Egypt and Bessan remained at home.
In preparation for our wedding, we chose the food, the music, the amazing dress and the wedding dances, but the wedding never happened!
  • Bessan’s wedding dress.
The war happened three days before the wedding and now we have lost everything. We lost our long-awaited joy and our beloved home we had dreamed of for so long.
  • Our wedding invitation
Everything vanished in moments. We were displaced and arrived in the south empty-handed. We have nothing but our souls, and every day a part of our soul is extinguished.
Here we lack the minimum necessities of life. After we lived a decent life, we lost everything. We are no longer able to obtain healthy food. The polluted water caused my fiancée to constantly suffer from gastrointestinal problems. She is no longer able to face this anymore. She lost her work as a freelancer, because of lake communication, and lost all of her work and laptop in our house bombing.

I work as a volunteer doctor in Abu Youssef Al-Najjar Hospital. I treat the sick and help the wounded. I watch death every moment and see the dead all the day. The smell of blood has become stuck to my hands, and scenes of death accompany me in my dreams.
When I see the dead, I know how they died. I imagine myself and those I love in their place. I can no longer bear the scenes of death. My soul is exhausted from these last six months of work, and from the terrible scenes I see every day. There is no getting used to these horrific things.

For the last six months, I have been working more than 12 hours a day for seven days a week with no pay. I work to help my patients even at the expense of myself. Now I have become the person who needs help to get my fiancee and me out of danger. Even in the safe area, which was declared a safe zone, we see death at every moment and the danger doubles with every passing day.
I appeal to your hearts to help us rebuild our lives. Please pray for my family, me and my people here.
❤️Let us write a happy ending to our love story❤️

The money we hope to raise is for the following:
  • $10,000 for us to register our names on the evacuation list
  • $1,000 for transportation fees
  • $10,000 for living expenses in Egypt for 1 year
  • $46,000 for us to finish our educations
  • $1,000 for GoFundMe fees

  • Some of Bessan's work as an architect
  • Smoke from airstrikes nearby

[From the organizer] : I met Mohammed's cousin through a mutual aid group, and thus met Mohammed and Bessan. This platform is not supported in their region, so I am collecting donations in my bank account until they meet their goals. We will send them the money directly when they are ready.]
