Amanda's Wheelchair Fund

Donation protected
My sister-in-law, Amanda Priest, is a brave woman, after all, she married my brother 3 years ago. She was a single mom to a now adult daughter, worked for the provincial government for almost 20 years, continued to attend school in the evenings and is a generous, compassionate woman.

Last February, she started suffering from an as yet to be diagnosed neurological disorder, which has progressed from pain and difficulty walking to total confinement to a wheelchair. She has been using a wheelchair on loan from the Red Cross for the past 6 months. Her Occupational Therapist and a representative from Lawtons Home Health Care charted her mobility needs and now, due to pain in her hands, arms, and feet, along with diminished strength, she requires an electric one.

Blue Cross will pay $5200 towards one, but she has to come up with the remaining $9300. As a provincial civil servant, she is grateful that she has disability benefits, but is finding it very challenging to cope with the extra expenses that nobody ever foresees.

Can you help with a donation towards’ Amanda’s wheelchair fund?
