Sad-Vents again but @ The Vaults Festival

Donation protected
Sob story:
  • I got offered a well good slot at The Vaults Festival!!!!! Woohoo
  • I applied to Arts Council for funding
  • I waited and read all the Arts Council budget cut stories.
  • My mental health got REALLY shit again and I started to have really bad anxiety and depression
  • I got rejected by Arts Council.
  • I teetered on the edge and completely broke down and wanted to give up on life.
  • I managed to speak to my loved ones
  • I set up this page to fundraise.

I’m really trying to not break and I hate
asking for help because I feel weak, like a failure in fact. I feel like I’m thick and not good enough and I should give up but SAD-VENTS came out of a dark time when I almost gave up and it came out
of turning darkness into a positive, and out of sharing and reaching out.

So, I’m throwing back to that.

PLEASE DONATE. Literally anything, anything at all the majority is going to pay wages of people (not be fear not I will take no wage) but I need help, a team, and money to put it on.

Nothing is too small ❤️

About Sad-Vents

“Why do we need an audience for our recovery? Well, if a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?”

Eleanor is a loud, brazen and darkly comic theatre-maker, who has decided to take some terrible things that happened to her and turn them into a play. Sounds pretty intense, right? But it is funny, she promises.

Sad-Vents is an immersive show about mental health, heartbreak and trauma through the lens of social media.

Music, movement, and mixed media collide in this solo piece that bravely (or madly) asks the questions we don’t want to hear the answers to.

Somewhere between Euphoria, Instagram Live and all those Netflix trauma porn documentaries you just love watching; audiences will leave feeling exposed and alive, reconsidering what and why they share online, who it’s really for and how they consume the lives of others.

Together we’ll scroll through reels to find what’s real and when it’s done, we’ll go ready to share our deepest, darkest secrets with all and sundry....Or not...?

BONUS FACT: This show began its life online when Eleanor wrote, directed and produced a web series consisting of 25 monologues performed by 25 women in the run-up to Christmas during the pandemic. It has been watched by over 15,000 people.

Currently showing at The White Bear Theatre in Kennington. By donating, you can support the further development of Sad-Vents and keep Eleanor in therapy.
