We are a privately funded Animal Rescue and Sanctuary. We are seeking funds to help maintain animals that are currently in care and expand our vision of saving, rehabilitating, caring for and rehoming as many animals as we possibly can. We are seeking funds to continue to grant refuge and provide homes for the many animals in need we are contacted about each week.
2017 was a tough year physically, emotionally and financially for us here at Furcy and Friends. The loss of our over 20 years old rescue Dog Mitzi. The passing of rescue Cat Ghandi from Leukaemia, the loss of rescue Sheep Bubba Louis from snake bite. There were also some big vet bills associated with the rescue and castration of 2 Miniature Goats, Wyatt Earp and Marco Polo both of whom had undescended testicles. Marco Polo developed kidney failure after a major operation to remove his undescended testicle but after weeks of tireless care by his Veterinarians and us he remarkably survived and is now thriving! There was also the rescue of Bonnie the 10 year old Maremma who has health issues and requires ongoing medication. And of course there was the 16 year old gentle giant Broadway, a 17.2hh Warmblood Horse. There were a multitude of other beautiful souls we managed to rescue and rehome including an extremely old, sick and abandoned Donkey which required a last minute dash driving hundreds of kilometres to rescue her before she was turned into dog meat! We managed to find her a beautiful home to spend her twilight years.
2018 was even tougher! There were a lot of challenges this year that we can't even talk about.
In 2019 we truly wish to know that the lives and welfare of our four legged and feathered friends are valued and loved. We want to give love and shelter to as many donkeys, horses, sheep, goats, cows, ducks, chickens, dogs, cats and any and all animals that come into our care.
Over the years we have rescued, fostered, rehomed and housed hundreds of animals. We now need your support to continue our mission of helping animals in need.
