My name is Shannon, and those that know me know that asking for help is not my strong point. But, since I'm not really asking for help for myself, it's a little easier!
About a year ago, I lost my 16-year-old pup, and found myself alone for the first time in years. I began fostering dogs as a way to help my loneliness, but also as a way to help these babies find their furever home. After a couple of fosters, I began focusing on senior dogs. The organization with which I work, had an influx of older dogs, and I love working with them. My home and my property are like a sanctuary for them. It is calm, peaceful, and full of places to explore, or to simply lie in the sun on a beautiful day. Unfortunately, senior dogs come with their own set of issues. While the organization I work for covers medical expenses (thank goodness), food, treats, and supplements are my responsibility. I work as a fifth grade teacher, and prior to the outbreak of Covid- 19, I had a couple of extra jobs that helped cover the expenses I incur with my fosters. However, all of those jobs have now stopped, and I find myself struggling to get the supplements needed for these elderly pups. I know times are hard for everyone, but I'm hoping that some of you have an extra $1, $5, or even spare change, here or there to spare, that I could use to buy their special joint supplements, senior food, and treats. Any help is greatly appreciated, and is going to such a wonderful cause. These babies deserve love, comfort, and happiness in their old age. Even donations of food, beds, supplements, and toys are welcome, if money is tight! I don't plan on stopping the fostering anytime soon, so having extra things on hand is always helpful!
