Dear Friends,
Over the last year Haiti, the country I have come to love and call home, has become very unstable due to an ongoing political crisis. This fund is to benefit bringing Orie back and renew the Visa process for my wife. It is our second attempt and many of the rules have changed in the process resulting the need for a Lawyer. It will be a long journey, yet one we are obligated to undertake for their future.
It is with a heavy heart that I make this request for so many other family, friends and compatriots who don't have this choice. We will continue to try to support them and help in any way we can, but we have to do what is best for our family so we can be there for the rest of our family in the future.
This fund will support
Lawyer fees in the US
Visa applications and supporting materials.
Regulating Orie's status
Secure Transportation cost to and from several locations.
I am starting this process immediately by sending the preliminary application and retaining a legal assistance. Neither of which can be done from Haiti due to the permanent closure of the immigration office at the US embassy in Port au Prince. With your help I came be home with them by Christmas.
Transportation within the country has become very difficult due to ongoing protest which block the roads almost daily. This will on occasion require secure alternative transportation in order to reach the embassy in the capital. This is going to be a monumental task and I am very thankful for any support.
It will mean the world to us and a future for wonderful 6 year old boy who deserves every chance in life.
