"The Call"
Early this morning, I received a call I've never gotten before...A call that shook both me and my family to the core. When I received the call, it was late into the night and somehow, I knew. I knew that the news either had to be really good or really devasting.

Moments after picking up what was the fifth call I received from my brother, I discovered that my grandma had passed away due to a heart attack. See, the moment you realize that someone you love has passed, your heart and mind start to race. In that moment I began to ask myself hundreds of questions: Why didn't I spend more time with her? Did she go in peace? Why did she have to be alone when it happened? Is she happy where she is now? How will I be able to support my family through this pain?

See, these thoughts are heavy and they reveal one of the main truths of losing someone...It is never easy. This is especially true when the loss comes so unexpectedly and is a loss of such a powerful woman.

"The Backstory"
My grandmother went through several tribulations throughout her life. She suffered the tragedy of losing her husband at the hands of a murderer. She suffered through a hereditary disease, which actively worked toward destroying her organs. And she spent the last year of her life fighting...Fighting with a machine down her trachea as her sidekick. All these tribulations and her "I'll get through this...I'll get better" mentality reveal that my grandma was truly a fighter -- an incredibly powerful woman. It was in her blood.

"How you can Help"
Now that my fighter is no longer with us, I want to stand up on her behalf. I want to honor her death. So, I am asking for your help. As you may know, funeral services and burials are expensive and often times leave families in incredible debt. I don't want that for my family. And most of all, I want the best for my grandma. So, I am asking for your help.

Please help me raise the $8,000 necessary to cover the costs for her ceremony. We're aiming to raise the money by April 6th, a month from now. I am fully aware that this is a large amount of money, and I also have faith that we can make this happen together. Please help me, help my family...Money should never be a factor when grieving.

Any and all donations are welcome....EVERY dollar counts. If you cannot donate, I ask that you please share her story on your social media. Please help me, help my my fighter...My powerful grandma.
