Funeral service for American Hero
Donation protected
SFC. Ralph Andrew Silvas was our platoon Sgt. in Delta Co. 1/52 Mechanized Infantry in Bamberg, Germany in the mid 80's, he was loved and respected by all who ever met him. Ralph passed away on May 1, 2017. His estranged Ex-wife had him cremated and left his remains and never picked up at the crematory. His daughters never found out till 3 months later. his daughters reached out and found some of us that served with him. We formed a small committee to right this terrible injustice to a bonified War Hero. Soon, we all pitched in with our indivivual missions and we came up with a game plan. SFC Ralph A. Silvas will be put to rest on May 1 ,2018 a year to the day of his passing with full Military Honors at Ft. Jackson SC. He was an Honorable man, retired military and also retired from his civilian job as a policeman and didn't deserve to go out like he did, he deserved much better. We, who were honored to have served with Sgt. Silvas will be attending his service, comming from PA,OH,NM,FL,ID,AK and hopefully some more places to put him to rest with honor and dignity that he deserved. We are trying to raise $3500.00. $1900 is for the Service that will be held in
Columbia, SC and $450.00 to run a proper obituary which is being written by one of our own, which leaves roughly about 1k to cover and additional exspense that may occur. Any left over monies will be turned over to Ralphs 3 daughters.
Please Help us in putting this old Iron Soldier,Vietnam Veteran and War Hero to rest with the dignity and respect he so deserved by making a small contribution. He was a good man, a good Soldier and good father. Lets do the right thing here.
Thank you,
Respectfully,
