Airdrie 4y-old John passed away after drowning

On the evening of October 3, 2023, the four-year-old John-Williams Abdou Fru tragically drowned in a Kings Heights neighborhood pond, Airdrie, Alberta. He was taken to the Children’s Hospital in critical condition where he remained in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit under the watch and care of the incredible doctors and nurses, fighting for his precious life. John has fought hard, lost his fight, and passed on to heaven, on Sunday Oct 15, 2023. Life taken way too soon.

John was a vibrant boy so full of life. He loved running around and singing. He was passionate about elephants and dinosaurs. His favorite color was blue. He was the “little brother” to his three sisters. His love for his mom was inseparable and his best-friendship with dad was inspiring. We will all miss him so much.

John would have turned 5-year-old on Oct 21, 2023, which is now sadly scheduled to be his funeral day. He started kindergarten at Ecole des Hautes Plaines in Airdrie this past Sept 2023 with a promising future ahead of him.

John is survived by mom, dad, three older sisters, grandpa, grandma, and many aunties uncles and cousins. They are left heart broken but filled with love and amazing memories.

The collected fund will help with funeral costs, and support for the family in this incredibly difficult time.
