Becky’s Obituary

Funeral Expenses for Rebekah R. (Hess) Butcher

Sadly, Becky Butcher passed away suddenly on August 28, 2018 at Mercy Anderson Hospital.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2018, 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Gospel Assembly Church, 12055 Pippin Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.

The funeral service will also be held at Gospel Assembly Church on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 11:00 AM with interment immediately following at Crown Hill Memorial Cemetery at 11825 Pippin Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.

On the morning of August 28, Becky was not feeling well and called her husband to come home from work to take her to the hospital. She was having pains in her chest, back and jaw. She was taken to Mercy Clermont Hospital where tests concluded that she had a dissected aorta. Plans were made to immediately Air Care her to Mercy Anderson Hospital for emergency open heart surgery. Unfortunately, after arriving at Mercy Anderson her heart stopped while being prepped for surgery. The suddenness and unexpectedness of this has been an utter such a shock to the family (especially her husband Dave and two sons, Kyle and Cody Vanderpool.) At a young age of only 51 years old, no plans had been made for such a tragedy. She leaves a loving husband, sons, mother, siblings, and grandchildren as well as many family members.

Becky will be remembered as the most gentle, kind, and selfless spirit imaginable. She would never hesitate to help someone in need in any way that she could, and would often go out of her way to do so. All the way up until her untimely passing she was still concerned about the wellbeing of others over herself, not wanting to inconvenience others because she wasn’t feeling well. She would never give up on someone and believed in second chances. Her silliness and sense of humor was one that could put a smile on any face, and when she got into a ‘fit’ of laughter it was so genuine and sincere it was contagious. The love she felt towards her family was unmatched. She was a devoted wife, loving daughter, and unapologetically proud mother and grandmother who was a shining light in so many lives. Becky was the rock solid pillar that held the family together and was always there for you to lean on. It has to be said that her passion for cooking and baking was on a whole-nother level and we all wish we could have one more home cooked meal or tasty treat. We are going to miss her presence dearly in our day to day lives, and know this is a hole that will never be filled. Her beauty, humor, influence, and love will live on in the memories we cherish. We all love you Becky so so much, and may you rest in peace.

We thank you so much for your support during these challenging times. The entire family is overcome with grief; and we are just asking for whatever help, even the smallest donation, to help the family deal with the expenses on top of the unimaginable grief that has overburdened us all. Or feel free to leave comments and you own memories of Becky below, how you know her and how she has affected your life.
