Funeral Expenses for the Vance Family

On Tuesday, November 23, 2021, Aliya Vance passed away at the age of 46. Although her life was cut short, each moment she spent on earth was dedicated to acts of love and service. The tragic loss of Aliya leaves a hole in the hearts of her two children Kamil and Tahira, loved ones, and her community. Her children were her biggest inspiration and the center of her world.

In everything Aliya did, she excelled. Her creativity and gift of writing gave her a platform to share her wisdom and inspiration. She authored many poems, books, and a play. Her eloquent words shared her story of transforming adversity into prosperity. Aliya simultaneously worked in public safety as a dispatcher and officer, protecting the lives of others. She attended LaSalle University for her Bachelor's degree in Social Work and Business Administration. She continued her education at Delaware State University and graduated Cum Laude with her master's in Social Work. Aliya began working at Philadelphia Interfaith Hospitality Network as an intern and was hired shortly after as a Housing Specialist, and then became the Coordinator for Family Services. Aliya was a natural and brilliant social worker who changed the lives of countless families and individuals for the better. Every life touched by Aliya was blessed with her contagious light.
