Donation protected
Gregory "Greg" Henderson passed away at his home in San Antonio on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the age of 55. A memorial service will be held at 12:00PM on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Victory Assembly of God Church 1017 W. Byrd Blvd, Universal City. Greg was born in Fort Benning, GA in 1962 where his military family was stationed at the time. He attended various schools in his early years due to his father serving in the U.S. Army. The family eventually settled down in San Antonio where he attended Park Village Elementary, Kirby Junior High and graduated from Judson High School in 1981. Greg loved sports, particularly basketball, and eventually became a basketball star at both Kirby Junior High and Judson High School. Because of his athletic abilities and countless achievements he received a college scholarship. His love and passion for the sport made him an avid San Antonio Spurs fan and he attended as many games as possible. Greg eventually found a career in the air conditioning field and possessed a unique and intriguing ability to tackle and solve complex issues. This ability led to him being recognized by his company with a "Great Idea Award" and other various awards throughout his career. Because of his giving spirit and hard work ethic during his off time Greg would make himself available to help friends, family and anyone who benefited from his God given skills. He always had a smile on his face and expected nothing in return. That was just one side of Greg's many qualities that his numerous friends and family members will dearly miss. Greg is survived by his mother Dorothy Mae Henderson; his two daughters Autumn Leigh Henderson and Alexandra "Alix" Carol Henderson; his two grandchildren Zaidyn M. and Declan K. Henderson; his two brothers Ronnie E. and Wilburn Dean Henderson; his two sisters Sandra L. Peters and Dianna L. Trommer; his countless nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and other family members and friends. Greg is preceded in death by his father Joseph E. Henderson; his brother Joseph "Jody" R. Henderson as well as his nephew Jonathan D. Henderson. Now they are all together celebrating their new journey with Jesus. The family would like to thank those of you that contributed to the gofundme.com site to support funeral expenses for Greg. We know he would be humbled and thankful for your sacrifice on his behalf.
