Funeral Expenses for DeJaven Hopkins

Hi, my name is Jamie Brown. I am the cousin of DeJaven Bernard Hopkins, who was the 13 year old victim involved in the hit and run accident this past Saturday. I have created this GoFundMe Account on behalf of DeJaven’s mother, Dannielle Hopkins.

On Saturday evening, around 8:30pm, DeJaven left home to walk down to the store, which was less than 1/4 mile from his home. DeJaven never made it to the store…He was hit by a vehicle 100 meters from his home…DeJaven was a funny, kind, nurturing brother to Olyvia, London and Hezekiah, and looked up to his big brother, DeQuarius. He was always willing to help out when ever possible and had a bright future ahead of him.

My family is heartbroken and we are at a loss for words on how someone could have done this, and never stopped…

After speaking to the funeral home, the expenses for the funeral will be approximately between $10,000 -$15,000. Unfortunately, the family does not have the resources currently to come up with the money to cover the cost of the funeral…I am asking you, the public, ever so humbly, to please help us in raising the money to provide my cousin a proper funeral, the kind he deserves.
