Funeral costs for Vallejo Kennedy

It is with a heavy heavy heart that we are having to create this fundraiser for our dear friend Sarah. Two weeks ago her sweet son Vallejo disappeared. Since that day, it has been a chaotic roller coaster of emotional ups and downs, days full of searching and handing out flyers, sleepless nights and many many tears.

Sarah has been surprised and blessed by, and so very grateful for the huge outpouring of community support she has received. Thankful for the encouraging words from everyone and thankful for the people that rallied together to help search for him on Saturday. Some of whom she had never even met.

Unfortunately, the end result of the search party was a parent’s worst nightmare. He was found deceased and she is now left with an unimaginable emptiness and grief. There is so much to do and in such a short time. We are trying to help navigate and take care of as much as we can for her. No mother should ever have to bury her child.

We are finding that there are sooo many costs associated with just the funeral, burial and handling of Vallejo alone. Sarah has had to take the last two weeks off to search for her son and the next two weeks off to bury him. This is such a huge financial burden for her, and added to everything else it’s just too much.

Sarah is a caregiver at work and a caregiver at home. She has a true caregiver’s heart and gives freely of herself. She has helped me personally in ways that I can never repay. If it weren’t for her, my mother in law would have spent her last days in a home and I would not be a caregiver myself.

Her love for her son is so deep. He was not only her son but her friend, her roommate, her confidante, her adventure buddy, her heart and soul, the love of her life, her entire world.
