Funeral Costs for Lanny Hissong

My stepfather, Lanny Hissong, passed away in his home in Brimley, Michigan. He was the husband and partner my Mom, Brendann Hissong, never thought she'd find. Over the past few years his health significantly declined as MS began to take its toll on both his body and their finances. My mother works long hours in addition to caring for him, as well as her adult son who also lives with significant health conditions which makes him unable to work. Though I did not know Lanny well, he made my Mother very happy, and that makes him significant to me. 

Because of Covid-19 causing the loss of jobs and job opportunities, we are unable to directly help my Mother defray significant costs of funeral expenses and hospital bills. She is already strained to the limits of what she is able to handle, and this is the most actionable way I have to help her while living so far away.

I plan to personally work with their chosen funeral home, CS Mulder Funeral Home, in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan to ensure that only the amount needed will be collected. I will handle sending the money directly to the home and/or parties to be paid for medical expenses. I've chosen the displayed amount as an upper estimate. Should the expenses be lower, I will alter the amount and stop accepting donations at that amount. If it is higher, I will still stop at the shown goal.

Times are difficult for so many right now. If you are unable to financially help right now, please consider passing this along for the sake of visibility. Loss and grief are difficult enough without crushing debt over their head.
