Funeral Care Costs For Katie’s Mother

To lose a parent is devastating; to lose a parent suddenly during a pandemic is a nightmare no one should ever have to go through. Except that is exactly what our friend, Katie Currier, is experiencing right now. With even simple cremation services being ridiculously expensive and no funds saved for this, her grief is compounded by the inability to pay for the opportunity to say goodbye to her mother. This is where you can help. Any donation would be of great aid and be used to offset funeral expenses. Katie doesn’t like asking for help but she is a kind, compassionate, fierce friend and is worthy of support, assistance and an over abundance of love. My depression spirals

My mom dies unexpectedly, leaving no will, no life insurance, and no assets whatsoever. She fell and broke her hip. The morning of her surgery, I got a call from the doctor telling me that everything went great and that she was in recovery. Later that afternoon, I got another phone call. The doctor said that her blood pressure started to drop and they lost her pulse. They were unable to bring her back.

A simple cremation with no ceremony, memorial, or anything is just shy of $4,000. For $4,000 I’ll get her remains in a plastic box.

I’m awful at asking for help because I don’t ever want to be a burden to anyone. Even when I need it most, I am absolutely terrified to ask.
