Funds to support queer ex Muslim.

Hello, my name is Amina (real name has been redacted and switched to protect safety), I am a 22 year old, long time resident of North Minneapolis and have grown up closeted as both a bisexual and an Ex Muslim for much of my life.

Coping with my recovery of Covid19 was difficult enough while trying to keep my personal life discreet from my very invasive and intrusive somali parents. While in recovery, my mother found out about my personal lifestyle and kicked me out into the streets. As you all know, Minneapolis is currently very, very unsafe currently with the riots, the national guard’s violent curfew, the real threat of corona virus 2nd wave infection, and the civilian police monitoring the streets. It is completely unsafe for anyone to be out, living in the streets let alone a vulnerable queer, black woman. I am very, very worried about how i’m going to make it through these next few weeks as I am currently unemployed and nothing is certain, from food to access to governmental benefits.

I am setting the goal as high as possible because I already know that i’m going to need as much money as I can get to relocate from minnesota to a more stable setting, and start from scratch where my life isn’t constantly being threatened due to my beliefs and sexuality by both family and community. I know we probably will not complete the goal but I am begging and urging you to donate what you can and at least share if you cannot donate anything, because my life depends on it.
