Funds for a very special friend

Hi, my name is Katie and I feel very lucky to have a very special best friend called Sarah Moore.

Unfortunately Sarah doesn’t have much time left and we are completely heart broken. While pregnant with her now 16 month old, Sarah was told that she had a large tumour. They needed to remove her precious daughter early and then give her chemo treatment. This was completed successfully and she was given the all clear and we were all so relieved.

A little while later Sarah started feeling pain in her stomach. She was told that the pain was just a hernia from her operation. She was sent away. A little while later she could no longer take the pain so went to hospital again. A surgeon refused to give her an ultrasound to check. It wasn’t until a young new doctor working at the time disagreed with the surgeon and insisted that they investigate. This saved her life that day. It was discovered that she had cancer in her bowel and shadowing on her liver. She was operated on the next day and they removed 3/4 of her bowel. They then made her wait 3 months to be told that they couldn’t do anything about the cancer in her liver. Without treatment she would die within 6 months. They made her wait 3 months to get this news. With fortnightly treatment she could maybe make it to 22 months. They told her they would only give her treatment because she has young children. Normally they wouldn’t give anything. She now completes fortnightly chemo.

Unfortunately 2 weeks ago she was having pain in her back and after further investigation identified that the cancer has now spread to her bones. They asked her if they could write on her medical notes not to resuscitate. She is a fighter and stated no way! She is determined to last as long as possible for her family. This is all completely devastating for the entire family and everyone that loves Sarah. She is the rock for us all. She has always put others first and has the biggest heart. She is the most loving, kind gentle person we all know and love.

Since the initial diagnosis Sarah has been trying to set things up for her very young family while also spending quality time with them. I’m asking for help with this.
