Sevilla Montessori School is an international school created almost 5 years ago. It has been three years in the new school building, where all the financial resources of my family have been invested into. We are three, my husband, my son and me. The illusion of contributing to society with this education motivated us to start the project and grow step by step.
Sevilla Montessori School es una escuela internacional creada hace casi 5 años. Han pasado tres años en el nuevo edificio de la escuela, donde se han invertido todos los recursos financieros de mi familia. Somos tres, mi esposo, mi hijo y yo. La ilusión de contribuir a la sociedad con esta educación nos motivó a comenzar el proyecto y crecer paso a paso.
Why did I decide to create this illusion in my city?
¿Por qué decidí crear esta ilusión en mi ciudad?
After living and traveling in various countries of the world, I discovered Montessori. I fell in love with the way it treats children and shows them the world, with a totally sensory, experimental and respectful learning. All children deserve to be treated with respect. Following the Montessori method, in our school, children are exposed to significant experiences and knowledge, through the joy of discovery.
Después de vivir y viajar en varios países del mundo, descubrí Montessori. Me enamoré de la forma en que trata a los niños y les muestra el mundo, con un aprendizaje totalmente sensorial, experimental y respetuoso. Todos los niños merecen ser tratados con respeto. Siguiendo el método Montessori, en nuestra escuela, los niños están expuestos a experiencias y conocimientos significativos, a través de la alegría del descubrimiento.
We educate the whole child in an environment full of practical materials that exceed the most traditional environments.

I looked at my childhood and remembered how hard it was for me to study and to be able to follow the rhythm imposed on the children of my age group, I lived through many moments of stress, anxiety and lack of confidence. I did not want that for my son or the children of my environment. I knew that it was not going to be easy and that it would be a great challenge in all aspects, both personally and socially, but I wanted to give this opportunity to families, my environment and myself.
Miré a mi infancia y recordé lo difícil que era para mí estudiar y poder seguir el ritmo impuesto a los niños de mi grupo de edad, viví muchos momentos de estrés, ansiedad y falta de confianza. No quería eso para mi hijo o los hijos de mi entorno. Sabía que no iba a ser fácil y que sería un gran desafío en todos los aspectos, tanto personal como socialmente, pero quería dar esta oportunidad a las familias, a mi entorno y a mí mismo.
Seville is my hometown, and the house we have chosen was my nursery school for some years. The idea of the house was to demolish it and build a larger building. We knew it was there waiting to become a wonderful Montessori home for children.
Sevilla es mi ciudad natal, y la casa que hemos elegido fue mi guardería durante algunos años. La idea de la casa era demolerla y construir un edificio más grande. Sabíamos que estaba allí esperando convertirse en un maravilloso hogar Montessori para niños.
During the years we take care of enabling the school step by step: playground, garden, sandpit, vegetable garden, exterior paint, new floors, new furniture, renovation of materials, new electrical system throughout the house, new bathrooms, expanding rooms and the last major investment was an elevator to facilitate access for people with specific needs, meeting the requirements of being an educational center. All this from 2017 to 2020.

Our school makes it easy for different types of families to enroll their children, also since we started we have been adapting the school fee progressively, when we opened our doors, the amount was half that of today, in order to adapt to the needs of families. The COVID19 crisis has been devastating for the families of our center. Our center has stopped receiving monthly fees from many students for months, and the forecast for September is not as encouraging as other years. Next year, to give a better educational quality to the school, we will keep all our teaching staff and their salary, and we will invest in our own kitchen with local products for responsible and ecological consumption, in addition to buying new materials.
La crisis de COVID19 ha sido devastadora para las familias de nuestro centro. We are a private school and families contribute to the cost of the materials and the management of the school, however, due to the loss of students after the COVID19 crisis, that contribution has changed enormously.
