Fundraising forThamarai Educational Projects India

Donation protected

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.

I’m turning 50 on the 24th May and to celebrate with me this year I am asking you to consider a donation to this campaign to raise funds
for Thamarai Education Project India in lieu of any potential gifts. I am so grateful and feel very blessed for everything and everyone I have in my life and would love to be able to gift your generosity to the wonderful children in Thamarai. Most you know this project is run by my amazing sister Bridget. Who set up Thamarai over 16th years ago with her friend Kathy. I have seen first-hand all the wonderful work and the difference this project makes to the children’s lives. Watch the video and you will see the energy and beauty of this place.

Like all across India Thamarai has been impacted by Covid 19: The children are currently being supported with classes  on telephone calls
and online platform’s and this is a vital support to these children at this really difficult time. This money raised will go toward developing a new digital classrooms on the second floor of the new Thamarai building. This classroom will open up a new ways for these kids to gain
digital skills in a fun and supportive space. The cost to equip the classroom which will include computers, internet access, a smart board,
tech puzzles, tablets, projectors etc is € 4500 and I’m hoping to raise as much as I can to support this project.

Eventually this digital classrooms will also benefit the greater community which will bring digital literacy for older youth, women and also
give accessibility for the village to get online service supports.

Thamarai is located in the Northern region of Auroville, Tamil Nadu. The project works in two villages ( Annainagar and Edayanchavady).
These villagers belong to a category where they are marginalised by the existing society. Their literacy level is comparatively less than that of the nearby settlements which is result of most of the parents being daily labourers who can hardly pay for their childrens schools. Most of our children study in the nearby government schools which is good but not that efficient with technology. Thamarai offers additional
support in a fun and supportive space.

Technology is going to be the next best friend for all the students in the upcoming generation and a way for them to improve their skills and prospects for the future.

Please support this fundraiser. All money raised goes directly to the project
