First and foremost, thank you for visiting this page! Those of us at Regina Gust Designs as well as Susie Miller appreciate you taking the time to show your love and support for Walter.
Walter was recently diagnosed with oral cancer. He underwent a lengthy oral surgery on Monday May 6th under the care of some of Houston’s finest surgeons. While his surgery was a success, the months ahead are going to be a difficult time for Walter. He is expected to undergo chemotherapy and radiation to help eradicate and control any cancer left behind. If you know Walter, you know he loves his work and will be eager to get back once he can. However, during his downtime, he will need whatever help he can get to offset the costs of his procedures as well as his loss of wages. Our accountant Lori Kirschke has generously donated her time to be Walter's personal accountant. She will oversee the funds from this account and has been taking charge of of Walter's finances with his permission. We could not be more thankful for having her!
Walter has been known in the floral and design industry in Houston for over15 years. Popular for his witty personality, Walter never fails to impress you with his dry humor and ability to make you laugh. Aside from that, he is a creative genius that will leave you inspired. From creating stunning floral arrangements to helping design some of Houston’s most elite weddings as well as Christmas decor that will take your breath away, Walter is a talent that cannot be matched. The industry will be eagerly awaiting his return once he is recovered.
Walters designs have put countless smiles on peoples faces. His life’s work is passionately creating something beautiful for others to enjoy. In the coming months, Walter will be unable to work at his full capacity. Aside from the shock of diagnosis, the financial burden can be just as worrisome. Lost wages will have a significant impact on Walter’s future and our hope is that we can help alleviate some of that hardship. More than anything else, Walter needs a strong support system to help get him through this time in his life and help raise his spirits.
When someone you know is struggling, it is human nature to want to help. And that is what we are asking of you. Whether it be financial, word of mouth, by prayer, donation of your time, or just by sharing this fundraiser, any form of assistance is appreciated.
