Fundraising For My Father's Cancer

My name is Liam Buchanan. I'm a 21 year old Electrical Engineering student at Northern Illinois University, and I am running this campaign for my father.
At the end of this summer, my family came to me with terrible news - my father had developed a type of skin cancer called nonkeratinizing squamous cell carcinoma in his throat which has metastasized to his neck. It was caught on accident during a routine checkup at the hospital, but unfortunately it had already spread to his lymphatic system. It is now classified as a Stage 3 cancer, and requires radiotherapy and chemotherapy to properly treat.
My father, Dr. David Buchanan, is a medical professional himself, and has taught at the University of Illinois at Champain - Urbana. Because of his knowledge, he was able to identify the appropriate initial treatment and have surgery done to remove the tumor at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He selected Mayo because of their industry leading capacity to treat cancer. The surgery to remove the tumor from his neck went well, and he was able to recover with few issues.
At the time of this writing, that was 5 weeks ago. In order to keep a +90% survival rate, Mayo strongly recommends receiving radiotherapy and chemotherapy within 4 - 6 weeks of surgery. My father began this therapy on September 18th, but our finances have already begun to deteriorate at a rapid pace following his surgery. We've had enough to make it this far, but I fear for my family's financial stability when the treatment is completed.
To expand on that, I have three younger sisters (7, 9, and 17) and my family owns a small farm in Maquon, IL. My youngest sister has suffered from a neuromuscular condition and scoliosis since birth, and my family is still paying for her ongoing treatment. My father was laid off from his previous position and finding work since being diagnosed has been very difficult. My mother works as a music teacher, and is currently the sole source of income for my family as I attend university. I will be starting a part time job soon, but what I earn will barely cover groceries.
All of these circumstances are what lead me here to you today. I can't stand feeling helpless as my father describes how concerning and stressful the bills are becoming for him as he prepares for his hospital trips. Your donations will cover the bills from his surgery, radiation, and chemical therapy, as well as the traveling fees for him to drive to Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. More than that, you'll alleviate an incredible amount of stress and bring joy to a man in a dark time in his life, who has sacrificed so much for his family.
