Fundraiser for Puerto Rico

Hello. My name is Jose Rivera. I'm from Vancouver Canada but was born in El Salvador. My sister has been living in Puerto Rico for about 15 years off and on and we both have close ties to the island. We have send the effects first hand the effects of their economic struggle before the hurricanes caused the catastrophic damage.

We are holding fundraiser with the help of some incredible people to help the people of Puerto Rico with their recovery efforts. Unfortunately, they are not getting much help and support from their federal government and it's up to us, friends of Puerto Rico to help! The island has been very good to my friends and loved ones and it's my turn to return the favour. Thanks to the generosity of some talended and generous individuals, we will have live performances from musicians, comedians and Djs as well as hold a silent auction and a 50/50 draw. Andina Brewing who is lending us their venue, has been kind to offer their space as the venue donate $1 from each food and beverage sale. The proceeds from the food and bevarage sales, the silent auction, 50/50, the door sales and donations from gofundme will to the recovery efforts in Puerto Rico via a independant, nonpartisan and nonprofit organization named ConPRmetidos,  who have operating from San Juan, Puerto Rico since 2012. Their mission is connecting people to help with recovery efforts from the disasters and as well have a long term goal to foster commitment with the personal, social and economic development of the Puerto Rican communities. Inspired by trends in social innovation, we strategically engage our diaspora’s resources to implement solutions that provoke systemic change in the island.

The funds will be collected and sent in one lump sum via wire transfer to http://www.conprmetidos.org/ and will post total funds raised along with a screenshot of the donations to show Puerto Rico they have friends here in Vancouver Canada! Thank you.
